Paytm has announced the launch of ‘Paytm Health Saathi,’ an exclusive health and income protection plan. This new plan is available for subscription on the ‘Paytm for Business’ app for a low monthly fee of just ₹35.

Paytm has been facing some challenges recently, and this new program seems to be a way to win back the trust and loyalty of its merchants. By offering a valuable benefit like healthcare at such a low cost, Paytm hopes to make its platform more attractive to merchants.

What’s Included in the Plan?

For ₹35 a month, merchants can subscribe to Paytm Health Saathi, which offers several healthcare benefits, including:

  1. Teleconsultation with Doctors: Merchants can consult with doctors over the phone or via video call for basic medical advice, allowing them to get help for minor illnesses without leaving their businesses.
  2. In-Person Doctor Visits: The plan covers visits to doctors in person (OPDs) within a network of partnered clinics. This enables merchants to receive treatment for more serious health issues without incurring large bills.
  3. Discounts on Medicines and Tests: Paytm Health Saathi provides discounts on medicines at partnered pharmacies and on diagnostic tests, helping merchants save money on healthcare costs.

Paytm states that the claims process for using the healthcare benefits will be simple and can be completed entirely through the Paytm for Business app. This should make it easy for merchants to access the care they need.

The program is still new, but Paytm reports that the pilot phase launched in May has already seen 3,000 merchants sign up. This suggests there is strong demand for this type of affordable healthcare plan among small business owners.

Overall, Paytm’s new health plan is a positive step for the company. By offering affordable healthcare to its merchants, Paytm is showing that it cares about their well-being and is working to build a stronger relationship with them.

Additional Points to Consider:

  • This plan may not cover everything, so it’s important for merchants to understand the details before signing up.
  • The quality of the healthcare services offered through the plan will depend on the network of partnered clinics.
  • Other payment platforms may offer similar health plans for their merchants, so it’s wise to compare options before making a decision.
